Exhaust tip preference?

Just bought a set of used Kline CF exhaust tips from a forum member -- they are quite nice. I decided to take a couple pics with what I was previously using -- Fabspeed black chrome duals. For fun, just interested in seeing what the preference is around here....

Looking straight down (top view) I like the Kline. Viewing from behind, I like the Fabspeed.

I've used FS tips on my 07 and 09 TT's and my 11 CTT with good success and now have the black chrome tips installed on my TTS. Installation was easy on the TT's and CTT but I DO NOT recommend them for a TTS. They don't fit properly, the top nut is a PITA to wrench, and they shift position. IMO they are poorly designed and unlike the OEM tips that have a secure top nut that cinches down from below the FS top bolt and nut is too short and will not tighten down enough to hold the tip securely. I know, I've tried three times and they still aren't right. It's a two person job-

From an aesthetics standpoint, Fabspeed by far.

Looks like we have a clear winner this far, and I agree, the Fabspeed ones just appear so much more aggressive. I wish the Klines were a bit larger and filed out the rear cutout more, similar to the 997.2TT. In addition, it would be nice if they had a more prominent rolled edge. Regardless, I am going to try them out for a while -- maybe they will grow on me

I gave them a quick polish (the clear on the CF was hazy with a few white splotches here and there), coated them with Optimum Gloss Coat, and then decided to paint the interiors with some leftover "ceramic" engine paint I had hanging around.

And, I have received 4 PMs thus far -- I am not selling the Fabspeed tips at this time, but thanks for the interest!

I have a set of new Fabspeeds I never actually installed that will be going up for sale if anyone is interested. I'll post them up soon.

Great job getting those to look like new!
My opinion is with your car color and all the CF pieces you already have, the Kline's look better and more unique. I find EVERYONE has the dual look these days making them not special anymore.
Regardless, beautiful ride and whatever you end up choosing will look great.

Fabspeed all the way - but I may be impartial as I have them, too.

Nope, just got them. I did just receive another PM from a forum member about them as well. Guys, just remember that 997.1TT exhaust tips are not interchangeable with 997.2TT exhaust tips....

I always used fs in past, but recently picked up a set of schnell, basically identical to fs but with a much more awkward bolt position and sleeve. However, the final fit is better and they are 1/2 the price from vertex ($285).

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I think the Kline tips look much better and much more unique than the Fabspeed tips.

If I still had my 997 TT, I would really consider a set of those. If you were to pair them with the OE solid red tail lights, you'd have a real winner in my book!
