Cruise in and Car show being put on by Aston on Friday morning in Carmel by the Sea at the Sunset Center. I'll be rolling in for that one. I don't know of any other Aston sponsored events during the weekend.

No Estate. Aston decided they get more exposure for less money in the shopping center. I agree with them. We will be there Friday morning.
Almost forgot: There is an AMOC welcome party at the Casa Munras Hotel at 5:30 Thursday. Its by the pool. See you there.

Agree with that. We did it last year and had a great after hours moment at the Aston Martin display at a little shopping center in uphill Carmel on Saturday. We did the Porsche show on Friday, the Italiano Corsicana on Saturday, and the Concourse on Sunday. Truly a car lovers wet dream. Met Jay Leno on Sunday at the concours and had him explain to my son the reason why BMW brought what they did. It was a spirited debate between them as my son had worked for BMW in the Bay area that year as an intern and was blessed with some inside perspective. Great moment and so glad to have been able to do it.

Just do it.

I drove down on the Saturday all the way from San Francisco. The scene was nice and mellow, and I had a few sandwiches with tea before snapping a few photos of the cars. To answer one of the questions posted earlier, yes, there were some Astons on display along San Carlos and Ocean Avenue. The environment was pure bliss for car fans... so many exotics, classics, antiques, and super cars were driving up and down the streets of Carmel, lining the roads and around the beach. On separate occasions I was being tailed by a McLaren, Ferrari, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini on the drive, and was able to create some distance in front of them despite their efforts to keep up!

It was so much fun taking the DB9 out on the 17 mile drive around Pebble Beach. I got to really test out the new custom fuel mapping that I received from VelocityAP, which I got with their ECU chip modification unit. The car definitely feels a lot better in sport mode and with traction control off. What a machine! I can hear the crackling and popping on the over-run, and the acceleration is very smooth and linear, with the tail kicking out easily and predictably. I'm very satisfied with the first mod I did to the car! I highly recommend working with Stuart from Velocity AP on getting your Aston's ECU tuned up if you're looking for a little extra torque throughout the power band and throttle response increase. It's a decision you won't regret.

I've also got a QuickSilver SuperSport exhaust and Fabspeed X-pipe ready to install, along with some VelocityAP high-flow intake filters that I can't wait to put on. I will be bringing my car into Los Gatos this Thursday and leave it over for a day or two to get all of the parts swapped. The anticipation is almost too much to bear. Anyway, here are some pictures from the 1913 club on Saturday. It's a great place to go if you've never been to one, like myself. If you can make it out to Monterey for next year's event, you should! My black DB9 is parked front and center in the last photo. Enjoy!

How about the DB1 that sold at auction there this week for $22,600,000. A record sale for an English car!
