vantage stock muffler bypass question

going to be taking the exhaust out soon to do the clutch and was wondering.

is it a true straight pipe with the valves open?

or does the pipes have to go through sound deadening. anyone ever cut one open to see whats inside?

I love how their graphics make it seem that the exhaust from each side stays together in the muffler. Unless there are some internal plates and such wouldn't this be the actual flow with valves closed? So basically the muffler is a crossover pipe - albeit way to the rear of the system. Anyone actually cut one open to see the internals?

My valves are always open so don't care how it is inside and it is definitely straight out as it spit fuel out as you rev the engine... I noticed that last year when I was parked about 2 foot away from a concrete wall in the parking garage :-)

Really, how does yours "spit fuel out"?

These cars are known to run rich and they do, and when the wall was wet it wasn't water that I can tell you as it was definitely gas... I don't know why it does it, it might do it even more when I change to my 200 cells cats this summer.

those pictures make sense. running catless on mine and it sounds pretty tame.

i heard another vantage no cats with a quicksilver exhaust and it seems to be louder, especially at idle.
