Here what the 3/16" seal much better test fit (no adhesive reason for slight bulge at the top). Not happy with the temp range, I may let them go through the summer and see how it holds up.
Hey Don-Here's the link, and perhaps the easiest repair ever, spent more time dorking with the dam electrical connector, trying to get it off without scratching the bumper. Yes I used a small screwdriver to release the tab. one side just wouldn't let go.
Get the bottom one for $1.28 per foot.
Available in red if you like P!G eyeliner? High temp and 1/4" version
You will need 7 feet however have to by 10 feet. I'm still looking for a high temp solution if anyone knows where to source it from.
I plan to take a temperature reading on the next 100+ degree day.
Jay - further down the page they list some made from Viton - which is generally a longer lasting more chemical resistant rubber - might do better at resisting ozone breakdown. Of course it's several times the price.
Don- I ordered some 1/4"Viton PN: 2072T11 yesterday the product rated as "hard" vs the medium hardness. Ill deal with the slight bulge at the top by a small slit on the back side. This may make it lay flatter at the radius point.
The factory seals are not "bulb type" so the contour better around curves.
Here's the Viton seals in action
no adhesive needed, however I added a drop at the bottom far outside corners as there was no tab available.
a few spots on one headlight need a little trim from excess lens sealant.
No more than a 30 minute job.
Update: The gaskets are available here https://www.mcmaster.com/#2072t11/=1cnqh2l (thanks Don)
Select other quantity and purchase 7', this will save some money. I ordered 10' without paying attention to all the options.
10' of Viton seal
Notice the lip on the lens
curve at the top
marked the holes with paint marker then punched them
holes made
release mechanism decided to come off with tool
Back in its place don't want the headlight to fly out (pre-recall)
will post some more photo's after i get the car detailed
