What is a good MSRP discount to aim for when negotiating a purchase of a 2017 911 Carrera S? This particular one has 300 miles on it and was a dealer demo car. MSRP is $130k, the list price now is $116,500 (~10% off MSRP). Can I get them down to $110k?
Is is CPOed at that price? 10% off might be good, not is outstanding. it's a 2017; when was the warranty punched? Additionally was a demo car.
I got a new 2017 in September last year, not previously driven, no demo, full warranty at 10% off in the Chicago area and actually did little haggling. I understand there are market variables involved, however 10% off a 2017 - which could be built in 2016 means the car is at least a year old, if not getting to two years old. I would go for at least 15% and will be gutsy enough to ask for an extended warranty thrown in if the warranty has been punched. In a few months, I'm certain you could get a CPO'd 2018 at 10% off especially with the 992 round the corner, likely next year. It really depends on which features you want and how flexible you are - and if you are not, you might as well order exactly what you want, because in the realm of things at the cost involved, it might be worth 10% to get exactly what you want and new. my2c
Thanks for the information. The car was built in October 2016, it was apparently a Porsche Marketing car, and was driven by the GM. Not sure if this is true or not. The warranty appears to have been punched November 2016, so they would need to include CPO. Something seems off here. The link to the car is attached, glad for any insight you can provide and advice is appreciated. https://www.porschewest.com/new/Pors...b9bb29be02.htm
Not sure if the car was a marketing car driven by the GM? Assuming the dealer and/or the person selling the car back to the dealer didn't wipe the "Max G-Force" settings clean on the dashboard, I suggest you compare the Max G-Force levels for the GM car to those of maybe 3 other used cars on the lot. I am no authority on G-force levels, so I welcome comments from others, but I think left/right Max G-force readings above 1.5 suggest some aggressive driving around corners. A max G-force rating above 1.5 on the top of the Max G Force gauge suggests aggressive breaking, and a Max G-Force rating above 1.0 on the bottom of the Max G Force gauge suggests aggressive acceleration. Again, I welcome comments from others more experienced in G Force levels than me. You'll also want an "ECU dump" so you can see if the car has been over-reved since this is a car with a manual transmition. You can see other posts on 6Speed referencing what rev ranges are considered potentially worrisome.
Terrible website not up to normal Porsche standards, very little about the car or options. Nothing about mileage other than a photo with the car at 264 miles and no word about it being a CPO which my guess it is or they are selling it for 5k less without the CPO.
