Looks like my last post was deleted by the moderators as I don’t see it here. Maybe it’s too political or controversial, so I will rephrase:

”What would be your next luxury sports car since a certain person in office is proposing a ban on German luxury cars in the US?”

Not adding the link as I don’t want this thread deleted. Not commenting either on how I feel about that current individual in the Oval Office.

Would you be willing to give up your P-Car if mandated? (Doesn’t matter what your political preference is. Please avoid making comments political.)

Never heard of that proposal. Hard to imagine a ban on a large portion of Audis and Mercedes and all Porsches. I bet good money it'll never happen. What's the purpose anyway and what's next? Ban on the import of Rolex watches and diamonds?

Somehow my other post was deleted and removed because I had the link regarding That certain individual in the office proposing a ban on German luxury vehicles.

Doubtful that it would happen that the person in the office would be successful at banning the German luxury vehicles. But if it did, I am not sure what sports car I would choose to gads. I definitely love Porsche, AMGs, and the M division.

In case you wanted to see that proposal, I linked this 6speedonline post as I don’t want to link the proposal directly here and have the moderators remove it.

i think it's just a possibility that tarriffs will be slapped on new cars. Cars that people already own are not going to be affected. you can't ban cars that people already own, you can only make it unpalatable to buy one.

But if I was going to get rid of my 997 and replace it with another sports car, it would probably be for a 991 or a C7

Agreed. The "ban" wouldn't impact cars already here, just those to be imported IF the tariffs are implemented. IF that comes to pass, I can see the value of cars already in country increasing. So I would keep mine, thank you very much.

No, I wouldn't give up anything. I give and have gave up enough at this point. Regardless of what individual is in office. Living the dream as I see it and as I have sacrificed for. Give back now. To do what make America great again. We are great and have always been great, even with the problems we have. F#%# the u know who and the doctor that delivered him.

This is a silly premise. Not one of the three branches of our federal government, nor any branch of a state government, could "ban" your Porsche. Go back and restudy your civics (if you ever took it). Yes, the government can ban new parts manufactured elsewhere from coming in, and tax heavily any new car, but it cannot lawfully (under the Constitution) take away your property, at least without just compensation and for a compelling reason.
