Hello,

This morning I noticed my music wasn't playing in the car. I pressed the CD button and it said "CD player not available". I tried the Radio but that doesn't work either.

So I tried the satnav to see if it's an audio amp that's gone or something and I noticed that the rotary dial didn't respond on the screen to set an address.

The dial doesn't work for fan speed or suspension or anything. It rotates freely like you are using it to adjust something, but has no end stop (as you are not actually changing anything when turning it).

Has anyone experienced this before or heard similar. I read up and apparently you may be able to do a hard reset by pressing the reset button for like 15 seconds until the screen switches back on. So I will give that a go later.

I will plug in the VCDS when I get home if that doesn't work to see if anything comes up.

So, it healed itself, all working now, so probs just a software glitch . . . ?

 

My 2004 GT had that problem. In the end I had to get a new head unit as I couldn't find a new replacement part. Hopefully yours will continue to work.
