I'm considering buying a used 996C2 (1999) thats been really well maintained, it has only 32K miles and is super clean. A new engine was put in at about 23K miles due to the RMS issue; from my test drive it seems like a solid car.

Can anyone in the LA area recommend a good indie shop (or dealer if need be) that really knows these cars and can inspect everything before I make a final decision? Would appreciate any help.

I don't know any reputable shop in LB/SP. Circle Porsche is in LB. Ask for Alberto (tech serv.) He's great guy to deal with. Tell him Peter (Red Cab) preferred. I preferred some members in the past to him and all I received was compliments and praises.

Not off hand. I know he will gives you very good service & price. He will do xtra to get new businesses. I call him tomorrow to let him know that you will contact him for PPI.
