some of the folks were talking about a drive along angeles crest hwy. I do not know the route so I am just creating this thread to see the interest level for a drive on 8/30/09 and it will be a good chance for me to meet some of the so.cal folks on the forum. Lets see if we can make it happen

I'm absolutely in for the 30th, looking forward to it! Hopefully, a 6speeder who is familiar with the route can recommend a good meeting spot to gather before we actually hit the trail. Just to clarify what we discussed in the 997 forum; we are talking about Angeles Crest Highway from the 210 over to the 15 near Wrightwood. What would be a good time to link up on that Sunday morning? Who else is coming?

make sure that your radar detectors are up and running.. A lot of LE around there on the weekends

 

Hey OC PCar, who patrols that area? Highway Patrol, another department? What are your experiences up there as far as enforcement goes? I don't have a radar detector yet, so we would absolutely need a few guys with detectors to alert us. Is a large gathering of Pcars up there a bad idea?

Curious on your thoughts, shed some light on it if you would.....

CHP as that hwy is part of Cal-Trans. On my V1 I use big "L" and pick up CHP on the Ka

Hey fastz33, since you are from the area, what do you recommend as far as a meeting spot beforehand? Let's see if we can get the details of this drive firmed up so we can all schedule it in. I'm thinking we shoot for around 8:00 am at a designated meeting spot, does that work for everybody? I'm coming from Santa Clarita, so have no idea whatsoever where to hook up?

there is a gas station i believe its shell right as u exit. thats a prime location to meet up before we head out.

 

I am coming in from pasadena so it is convenient for me. Lets meet at the shell gas station. Should we meet earlier to avoid other cars or is 8AM a good time?

Hey guys, should we shoot for 7:00 am just to try to beat the rush a little bit? I did some quick research, it absolutely looks like everybody gasses up at the Shell station at the Angeles Crest Highway exit off the 210 Freeway.

Does 7 am sounds good?
