Caravan to ALMS 12 Hours of Sebring
Caravan to ALMS 12 Hours of Sebring
Trying to organize a collaborated caravan to the first ALMS race of 2010. In case you don't know, BMW NA races the BMW E46 M3 GTR(past) or the BMW E92 M3 GTR(present). The significance of this race is beyond epic.

Anyway, I live in the Tampa area and I like a group of us to meet up locally and caravan to Sebring. From this area, the drive should take 2hr 48min according to Google maps. Pretty straight route though. We could also possibly meet up with others from different areas. Now, for the part that may be hard for some of you, lol. The green flag drops at 10:30am on Saturday, March 20. So we'd have to be on the road by 7am at the latest. Easy for me.
I'd like this caravan to definitely consist of BMWs, Ferraris and possibly P-cars since Porsche and Ferrari will be racing as well. Any other cars would just be icing on the cake. So post a link of this thread on corresponding forums. This should be a pretty good turn out. I'm going regardless, seeing as I've always wanted to hear and see the ///M3 GTR in action. I've started this thread so early due to the fact that I'd like to have as many people as possible and I realize that meets drives and cruises always take planning. SO NO EXCUSES
. On top of that, meets/cruises/track events always give me a goal/incentive/reason to mod my car some more lol.
Here's the link to the 12hrs of Sebring website with ticket prices. Keep in mind that tickets purchased after Feb tend to cost more.

I've also included a video of the GTR doing its thing.

Nice. Bring everyone you know. It should make a pretty good trip. There are a few other guys coming from your area from other forums. Maybe you could meet up with them.
By the way, two of the people going have badges so far, including me. So we should get a bit of leniency with the law on the way there, lol.

It's not a bad trip at all. I live in Tampa as well.
It's about a 2 hour trek from Tampa (if you're close to the university). I will be heading to Sebring on Jan 2nd to hangout with some buddies on this forum at the Chin Motorsports track day.
Always a blast to say the least.

I'll most likely be there a night or two early crashing at some friend's RV!
Went last year with a few friends, rented a massive RV for the trip, met some fantastic people. What an AWESOME event. I would HIGHLY recommend getting there a night early if you can. Not much beats waking up to the sound of the race cars whirling around the track in the morning.
It's well worth it to get there early if possible so you can beat out the crazy traffic.
Unfortunately, I have to be at the track at around at least 6am the day of the race because I will be photographing the race again. Mandatory media meeting is at 6:30am - so inevitably, don't think I will be making the trek with all you guys but definitely give me a shout.
Always great to meet new friends.

. What do you drive? I've probably seen you around.
We'll be there but don't know if we are driving or flying. If we drive we'll be coming from the east side on Thurs or Friday. Flying - Saturday morning.
I've never been to Sebring so I'm definitely looking forward to it.
