Park Place vs Boardwalk
Park Place vs Boardwalk
I took my 996 into Park Place for the sunroof clip fix and haven't been blown away by them yet. The service has been average at best although I would say the facility is very very nice. Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with the service depts of these two dealers?
Don't have a ton of experience with either but i took my 993tt in for a sunroof fix and they scratched the paint on it. Oil change on the same car seemed to take FOREVER. it is a cool store though.
have had no complaints with B'walk service.

Change 993tt to 996 and you have exactly what I have been dealing with today. After some discussion they are going to take care of it. I'm still just in shock it even happened and very anxious to get my car back
I made the mistake of going to park place few years ago...since then I have always gone to RUF, the service is excellent, they are very knowledgeable, and they get to your car right away when you bring it in.
I haven't had any experience at Park Place but what bugs me is that you cant go look at the new cars without having a escort or getting someone to come bring you upstairs. That is a little bothering when you just want to go check out what they have before you have a salesman down your throat.
I get great service at BW

FYI, Park Place is having an open house Saturday from 10-4. In the email they said the second floor would be open...thought that was kinda funny

i bought my car from park place. when i took the advertising plate off the front there was a cut through and through the bumper cover under the plate. i had several conversations with them, and ended up writing a letter to porsche cars north america. they ultimately paid to have the bumper fixed, but they weren't very gracious about it.
they do have a very nice facility. and, in the end, they made good on the bumper repair. of course, my car is worth less money because the front bumper has been repainted.

wow, sounds familiar. It took a 45 min conversation to have them agree to repair a scratch they put on. I even had to pull up the pics on my myspace to show them they did it.
Well the car looks great. When I picked it up the airbag light was on.
The 'tude at Park Place was surprising. No "we're sorry", "have a nice day"...nothing. Sorry, I don't need that. Maybe I am spoiled because BMW of Dallas has the best service of anyone I have ever delt with. It seems like at Park Place if you don't roll in with a TT or greater they don't care.

I have been to Park Place once and only once. I had purchased a 2002 Boxster at Boardwalk and ended up at Park Place to have A CD Changer installed. It was raining that day, slipped and fell. They just looked at me. Then a week later water was coming into the footwell, the old loose A/C drain tube deal (PP knocked it loose). I took it back to Boardwalk to get it resolved and never looked back. Five Porsche's later I know I can walk into Boardwalk and be treated respectfully and not be feed a line of crap in service.
the saga continues
my new sunroof switch doesn't work now. In fact when I went to open it the first time I pretty much put it through the headliner. Soooooooo it's back into Park Place Sat. Anyone want to put money on that Park Place will say it's not the switch it's the motor?? I see that coming...
