DFW to Austin PIX

the 26th proved difficult for many to make the austin drive so i decided to call it off and perhaps reschedule at some later point. i did have the saturday all to myself. not an easy thing to do with a new baby in the house, so i called QM and made an early morning appointment to get the Tubi exhaust off the car and install my new cargraphic supersound mufflers.

part of me still wanted to make this drive but decided to do the exhaust and maybe a short drive around dfw.

sat morning 08txsti (Edwin) called and said the weather is great, lets go.

he met me at QM just as we were finishing up wth the install. btw, tubi = higher pitch italian sound, cargraphic + porsche flat 6 = mechanical symphony under your right foot. it made this trip that much more special

the weather was so nice and the scenery so beautiful, i didnt take as many pics as i usualy do. Edwin and i decided early on we had all day for this and so got in no particular hurry though there was plenty of spirited driving. we stopped at many places and small towns along the way. interesting things around every corner. didnt take too many pics though.

i actualy remembered to get my camera out at this lonely rest stop on 281.

after a couple of more stops along 281, we reached marble falls and the blue bonnet cafe. decided to skip that place because of the crappy and tight parking. i scraped my lower lip going into that place despite being careful. from the parking lot i spoted a few resturants lining the river a couple of blocks down the street and asked Edwin if he'd like to go down there. we agreed and left, this time edwin scraped leaving lol

we dined at Chilis which has a huge parking lot shared with other near by resturants. and you get to set on a patio over looking the river below.

after a nice lunch, we were on the road again on some beautiful roads.

headed west from marble falls on 1431 toward austin

this guy nearly wrecked trying to stay up after we passed him. he managed to pass us again on a 4 lane section after we saw a 2 cops pass by us. i thought he would flip it.

the curves and scenery were intense at times so not too many pics taken here along 1431.

1431 led us to the super twisty lime creek road along the cliff walls of lake travis.

we then headed to downtown austin via anderson mills/ 2222.

DT was packed with people i guess from the game. lots of traffic so we made our way to 35 and came home.

def plan to run this route again. my body was tired but mind refreshed after this drive. thanks for looking

Got to ride along with both at same time during PK2 and I can tell you 110 is a walk in the park for both these guys. Driving into downtown Dallas at 2AM trailing Bara...well let me just say 110 comes and goes by rather quickly. Could've, Would've, Should've gone on this trip as planned but got nailed the Saturday right before this drive took place. Bummer but now gotta see what my options IF any I'll have due to already taken Defered and DD courses still within 1 year period on both. Any attorneys on here?
