Having some issues with my transmission. I dont like taking my car in until I have a good Idea of what the problem is, so hopefully someone has heard of these symptoms before.

Vehicle: 2006 Cad CTS Manual

Symptoms:

1- Light scratching noise when fully engaged in 1st, 3rd, or 5th gear. driving down the road, I will hear a scratching noise. If I pull back on the stick, just a quarter inch, the noise goes away, and returns when I release. R, 2nd, 4th & 6th make no noise.

2- Flutter noise. Started as what I would describe as a fluttering noise when coasting with clutch depressed, or in neutral, slowing as speed reduces. more recently it has started to sound like like the showcase showdown wheel on the price is right, almost a clicking instead of a flutter.

clutch feels good, no problems moving in and out of gears, issues are only noticed when gear is fully engaged, or neutral.

Any ideas would be helpful, some have suggested synchro gears, others shift linkage, but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance.
