996 turbo suspension and setup

hi guys
i am courious about how you guys rated the following suspension for the 996 turbo
1. JIC
2. pss9
3. pss10
4. JRZ
5. techart
6. moton
7. tein

can someone tell me your experience (build quality, customer service, ease of set up, durability etc. )with each brand.

also if someone can lead me to a place that gives a good price and place and good person to do alignment and corner weight that would be nice. i am in s cali.

Depends on what you want to do with the car.
I'd add KW Variant 3 to your list. Great quality engineering. Adjustable rebound and compression. Great performance (street/ moderate track). My $0.02.

For corner balance and alignment at a reasonable cost, check out Johnson's Alignment in Torrance (Steve A)

of the shocks listed the motons are the best and the most adjustable..
need to know car use and tires on car to determine spring rates...have a set of rebuilt moton motorsports 3 ways-willing to deal!!
as for set up where do you live in cal-most race and better porsche repair shops have good suspension people and know how to corner balance and
align!!!

We do a lot with Moton and have found that they work very well. Along with JRZ they are the best dampers on the market hands down against any on your list.

We use them on our World Challenge cars as well as street cars.

If you need some more info feel free to contact me directly.

motons-jrz

I Have A Few Questions-how Can Jrz Be Better Than Moton-when The J Part Of Jrz Started And Runs Moton??and Moton Has Alot Of Improvements That Are Not On Jrz....the Other Thing I Like Is How The Picture Of Your Own Cup Car Has A Moton Sticker On It And You Advertise They Are On It As A Selling Bonus?????one Of The Best Options With The Moton Motorsports Is The Blow Off Valve Built Into Them To Help Keep Tire Patch On The Race Track...dont Get Me Wrong The Jrz S Are Good But The Motons Are Better And Developed More As They Need To Be To Keep Up With Product Needs And To Stay With The Performance Market -sr

I think you mis read my post.. I said that the JRZ was a comporable damper to the Moton when compared to the dampers on the original list.

I never said that the JRZ was a better damper than the Moton ..

And yes we are the largest Moton dealer distributor in the country and we do run them on all of our cars.

So I am confused at what you are getting at?

My point was simply that Moton and JRZ make some of the best dampers in the world when compared to the others on the list. But than again its not really a fair comparison when you compare a true motorsport damper like the Moton or JRZ to a regular production damper.

Hope that clarifies my point.

When it comes to racing dampers you will find that most racing crew chiefs will sware by one damper or another and most of the time that is simply because that is what they know best.

I have JIC Cross. Build quality is mediocre. The rears have a lower attachment point that keeps rotating to the rear by 10 or 15 degrees no matter what I do. This puts preload on the anti-roll bar. Customer service is bad. They supposedly have a fix for this and were to send the parts to me. I made several calls asking for them and they never came. I have given up. Set up was easy for me. I just paid someone else to do it. You don't have control over jounce and rebound settings. Only one adjustment which does both in some ratio unknown to me. Can't speak to durability. Only have 4K miles on them.

Yes it rotates at the base of the shock body and yes I have a locking ring. Even used Loctite 271 last time to no avail.

I don't think the paint marking will give the real test until it's on the track again. That's not until June. Only getting driven on the street at this time. It is the lower mount rotating on the body of the shock. I don't know about a club sport designation I only know they are JIC Cross. No oil leaks.

Do you have an affiliation with JIC?

It really depends on your level of competition.

JIC is nice stuff, but I don't know how their stuff holds up in the long run.

The owner owns quite a few porsches himself, so I am sure their porsche suspension parts has to be good.
