Hi Tom,

I will try to find that book. Good advice about trying to do shotgun with a good driver. I had one of the good ones in the car with me for 3 of my 5 passes, but never thought about hitching with him. He probably wouldn't have wanted the extra 175 lbs. Can't blame him.

I wrote you on another thread today asking about light-weight batteries. Yours is really light and probably fine for a track car, but probably not enough for a mostly street-driven car.

I have already gotten my TT and am planning to put it on a small diet as well as adding lots of HP and torque via Neil Orton. His shop is 25 minutes from my home, and after seeing that video of the yellow TT in Korea with the Drift Box, I'm convinced I want something similar to that.

Should be quite comedic watching me try to tame all that muscle on the autoctoss courses this year. I may even try a DE, but the thought of that long straight out of turn 7 at Road Atlanta is a little un-nerving. Guess I could lift on the throttle, though, but will I ?

Al, the auto cross will be fun but the track is where this car really shines. As for weight and batteries the other option is to dual wire both batteries and just take the large one out once at the track. Good weight loss tip while at the track.

You MUST do at least one DE at Road Atlanta it is awesome!!!

Tom,

That's a great idea. I guess you would recommend the little Odessey such as what you have. Not sure where to permanently wire it in that would be sure to pass tech scrutiny. Just finished a bracket this weekend for the Optima 35 I purchased. That removes about 20 lbs.

All things considered, It's probably not the season to consider something like that. The car is going to be so much quicker than my capabilities, that I will be awhile just taming the throttle and brake.

Problem is that I haven't found any place to legally practice autocross, so I just guess one learns by doing at the events.

Thanks for the tip.

Al

Man I wish we had open tracks like that here in Florida. All of our tracks have walls. ;-(
