I hear ya. Similarly, I have heard they're kinda wild in the dry at full depth. I think I'll ride around on them a bit before the first event.

Ive had my best luck with the PCS...I run stock sizes as it doesnt upset the car at all and really...im not really losing much grip...I have run a variaty of cold start pressures and LIKE the fact that they require a lap or two of warm up...makes me (driver) warm up as well...

I just ran them at over 170 mph and they held the heat amazingly well for such a big *** car...I do feel like I can OVERHEAT most tires really quickly...

888's

Just ran on the 888's for the first time... I'd say 50% improvement over RA1 on dry conditions... definitely my favorite tire...

Toyo doesn't deal w/ nationwide distributers. They deal with smaller local distributers. It's been the toyo way since day one.

We let the Nitto's get slutted nation wide

broker, what are your thoughts about noise compared to the RA1? Are the 888's much louder?

Anyone else hear of the new Hankook tire that is supposed to be a clone of the Hoosier R6?? I guess some of the Boxster Spec guys are planning to test them out - almost the same tire at $40 less per tire would be sweet.

Cant beat them for value. Several people including me are using them in local track and AX scene in Nor Cal with great results. I have a set of their new F200 radial race slicks. They are less than some DOT R tires on the market! Nice thing about Hankooks is variety of compounds they sell. From very soft to hard.

Z211 is treaded DOT R and Z214 is slick DOT R.

I bought my R888 from...

Frisby Tire. Heard good things about them, and they were able to get me the tires while other dealer couln't even say when exactly r888 will be available.

tires run hot!

just an FYI ... I have been experimenting with the r888 pressure and it seems like the ideal cold pressure is 28 (front) and 29 (rear). It took me 2 days on the track to find the right pressure because they heat up a lot! If you drive like I do you will be at 39/40 psi after a couple of trips around the track and you will feel like you are in a go-kart... The tires are so sticky and brought my times at least 2-3 seconds faster than the ra1's... make sure you get these tires!

With the PSC's, do they have heat cycle issues? Or can I wear them on the street to the track and back again?

No problem on the street to and from events - many of us do it on PSCs, RA1s, etc. You don't put enough heat into them on the street to have a negative impact. When I heat cycle (1st) a new set of tires on the street, I push them and go through a bedding in process to get the heat into them -- not something you'd ever normally do on the way to the track.
