Any tracks like VIR further south?

Just looking for a track with a lot of grass and a neat layout like VIR without driving to Virginia... Are there any other tracks like that further south?

Is Road Atlanta fairly open or are the walls tight?

RA is a great track lot of run off except last turn, most "incidents" there than any other track in the country.
Come to Sebring!!

I'm skeered. I'm going to AutoX it twice and then I'll come out to Homestead or Sebring ;-)

Mike, if you are new at this, nothing to be "skeered" about. VERY safe. You have an instructor with you at all times and very controlled environment.

Autocrossing is a good place to start, will give you some basics and make you more comfortable. But once you do a track day, autocrossing will be a thing of the past.

Look at the PCA or Chin schedule for sebring and let me know if you sign up and I'll try to get you as my student since we have similar cars.

I will be racing my 944 at the NASA event end of the month in Homestead. these are also good events check their website and sign up!!

Putnam Park (Indiana) and Roebling Road (Georgia) are both great tracks if you are learning. They have plenty of run off space.

Good to know! Now I'm scared to lose my warranty though. I may have to buy a beater track car... Sad.

I didnt know that but it doesnt surprise me, it was intimidating my first time with all the walls but the parts that people go off the most (turns 1, 5, 10) arent all that dangerous unless you panic in turn 5. You wont have much problems in 5 with the AWD though and if you keep PSM on you shouldnt have problems anywhere.
