2.0T w/ direct injection around 270hp/tq, AWD, S3 brakes, this car is going to be fast. I'm having trouble warming up to the exterior of the MK6's, but other than that I think VW did an awesome job. The new audi-like interiors are beautiful.

im sorry but the R20 is just an overpriced GTI with AWD. the VR6 will be missed.

 

those numbers sounds sick.. lets see what happenss.. Im really not a fan of the new MK6 GTIs..but After seeing the new Sirocco at Sowo, Im leaning more towards the rocco..

Those tails need WORK! They make the car look like a station wagon...

 

Honestly, I think I would've opted for the VR6 had it been available without AWD. The added weight and slightly decreased feedback killed it for me. The result was a barely faster car than the GTI.

Problem with the VR6 is there is little room for more power without forced induction... so an .:R with a high output 2.0T makes more sense to compensate for the added weight of the AWD.

On a car like the Golf, I don't need a nice sounding engine, but on something like the bluesport roadster concept, I'd opt for the VR6 any day. That engine behind my head, screaming away... and that thing is supposed to be light so it wouldn't be slow either.

I agree the MK6 rear looks like a damn toureg. and the front looks horrible to me as well. I ahve a MK5 GTI and MK5 GLI and I think its safe to say that I have bought my last two VW's since the rocco is not coming here either and this R20 probably will not make here as well.

FYI for less than 5 grand you can have a 355hp MK5 GTI with a KO4 turbo front wheel drive. R20 not worth it to me. I might have thought about it in a MK5 Body.
