What About Sport Contact 2vmax & Contact3

Anyone have current experience with the larger Sport Contact2 Vmax tires or the newer Sport Contact 3?

Interested to know because there is a 325/30-19 size available in the Sport Contact 2 Vmax series, but I understand the Sport Contact 3 is a better tire.

I don't see the 325/30-19 size available in the Sport Contact 3!

Anyone have info and experience on NOTTO tires as well?

Nitto makes a decent tire, the new INVO isnt bad.

The SC3 is newer as you said, and they havent built as many different sizes as the SC2 or Vmax. The 325/30/19 is an odd size tire, and except for stuff like Pilot Sport Cups, the Vmax is your only option.

What are you using this tire for?

Use is street and just want larger tires.

The 325/30-19 is a dead-on size replacement for the OEM. It appears it's only available in the Vmax for street use.

Michelin only offers it in the PSCup which I discovered is N/G for street use!

What's the take on the Conti Vmax tires? As good as the PS2's?

The Conti is good, but just not as good. If you are pushing your car fairly often, you probably will notice a difference. The PSC is great, just not in the rain.

As far as that size, its not really a direct replacement for a 305/30/19, as Im guessing you are using it for a 911 turbo.

Can you clarify if possible that the "Conti is good but just not as good"? Grip, wet ability, handling?

I don't push my car hard at all but am looking for wider tires.

The 325/30-19 is a direct replacement for a 275/40-18 which is the OEM 360 rear tire size. It's a 360 Ferrari for which I am chosing the 325/30-19.

I take it you have aftermarket wheels or CS wheels then? I figured Porsche(except for the avatar) because the standard 360 has 18s.

If you just want wider tires, the Conti will work just fine. If you want performance, the PS2 is the way to go. The PSC is a hell of a tire, and it works great on the street, unless you hit rain.

Thank you for the help.

I do not drive in the rain but I have been told that the PSC does not grip well until warmed up, and that's of concern to me. Any comments on this?

I do want a good performance tire though that I can rely on.

I have HRE 890R rims-12" rear and 8.5" fronts.

Do you know if the Conti 2 Vmax is OEM on the 599 Ferrari? Continental implied it was.

Yeah, when theyre cold they dont grip as well, but it doesnt take much driving to get them up to a decent temp.

The Conti is a good tire, and unless you push your car, you should be fine with it. For the wheels you have, a 325, 335, or 345 would be the right width. The 345/30/19 PS2 would be a good choice.

The 599 uses the Pirelli Pzero or Bridgestone run flats.

If it were your choice PS2's or PSC's?

Well, that one I cant really decide, but I can give you the pros and cons of each. I live where its cold, and I drive all my cars in the cold, provided the roads are clear, and the PSC doesnt do well at all when its under 50 outside.

The PSC is more expensive than the wider PS2, and the PS2 is a good choice if you dont push your car all the time, and if you might hit rain. But if you are certain you wont drive in rain, and you want to really push your car after the tires are warm, get the PSC.

It does not get much below 50 here. So, the temperature aspect is not really an issue in this part of California.

All good advice.

I have PS2's in a 285/35-19 on the rears and 225/35-19 fronts now, but I want wider tires.

So I do now have the 325/30-19 PSC's for the rears (not yet mounted) and considering 245/30-19 PSC's for the fronts.

Since the 355/25-19 Pirelli's are so rare, I decided against the Novitec NF-2 rims. These are quite nice but the Pirelli tire situation scares me.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

It has been very valuable.

Yep, no problem. I hope you arent using the 285 on a 12" wheel, the max width you should use that is 11".

You know, you have a really odd size on the rear, thats why its so hard to find a proper tire. We usually use a 10.5, 11, or 13 inch rear on the 360. If you need the fronts, PM me.

The 285 is on an 11" SAC rim.

Michelin says a 12" rim is optimum for the 325/30-19 tire. No?

I think I may have that covered but if not I will contact you.

Many thanks again.

11.5" actually. 345 would be a for 12" width. Where do you buy tires from?

I was advised that for the PSC 325 width a 12" rim is required to get the tire's full footprint! No?

I have always purchased my tires from a local dealer who is exceptional in taking care of all my vehicle tire needs business and personal.

The 325/30-19 PSC's were of the very first batch of only 11 tires that Michelin had brought in the end of November, 2007.

They arrived in early Dec 07. I have been holding on to them since then.
