315/-/18?

Hey guys. Is there anyone out there making a 315/-/18 besides Pirelli and Michelin? I'm not a fan of Pirelli, so it really just leaves me with the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's. The cheapest I have found them is $409 at Tire Rack.

I'm looking for a good sticky tire that will be for my old 911. I'm going to be running Work Brombacher wheels. 18x10 up front and 18x11 in the back. The car is going to be mostly used for track days, autocross, occasional PCA events, and random get togethers. Any suggestions on other tires or a place that can beat the Tire Rack price would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Chris

I knew about the Nitto's, I totally overlooked the Kumo's though. Any personal experiences with them?

I have them on right now.
It's extremely sticky for a street tire. No brainer especially for the price.
I think grassroots motorsports did a test when it came out and it was ranked as #1.

315/30/18 is the size that you'll want to run for the rears.

Ya, I'm gonna run 265 or 275/35/18 up front and 315/30/18 rears on 18x10 and 18x11 Work Brombachers probably. I might go with something lighter though. Still looking for good recommendations though.

Chris,

Love the looks of the Work Brombachers! Did you already get them ordered? If you're looking for a light setup, the Forgestar F14s would look killer on your ride plus they won't break the bank!

I haven't yet. Im still a little ways away from getting the wheels. I still have the car at the body shop. We are putting a 13' wide flair on the rear... so I am definitely going to need some bigger wheels and tires to fill them out (hence the 315 question). I love the look of the Brombachers, plus I know you can get the off-sets Ill need on them. RWB uses them a lot. I looked into SSRs as well, but I like the mesh look. Here is a photo just for an example shot of what Im going for:

http://www.0-60mag.com/news/2010/03/...ega-gallery/#1

That is a shot of the rear wheel, and if you click the next arrow, you can see a shot of the fronts.

Now, some people like this look, and others think it is way over the top, or "ricey." But in my opinion, I like the stance they have. They are mean, wide, and all NA motors that can keep up with the best of them on a track... which is what my car will see. So there is the weight issue as well.

So, to sum it up... I still don't know. Im just trying to get my ducks in a row, ya know? What are your thoughts?

I like the looks of the RWB Porsches since they're pretty different. Nakai-san has his major influences from motorcycles and he incorporates that into his outrageous widebody creations!

However, if you're going to go that crazy of a fitment, I think the entire car needs to follow theme. Just like how RWB does it. Your interior should look like this!

Then would it look right with bodywork like this!

It is... When I get her back, the interior is getting fully gutted. In its place is going two OMP race seats and... well thats it really. Its going to be loud, its going to be rough, and its going to be fast. Thats it really. I bought the car to drive it. No frills. Just motor, seat, wheel, and shifter!
