Winter tire options

So I am using my 2005 C2S all winter here on Long Island. Am not sure wether to go to a Conti DWS, or a Pirelli Sottozero. Since ground clearance is a issue, in the deep stuff I'll borrow my son-in-laws Escalade!! Will the DWS give me a better ride/grip on just plain cold pavement?

Thanks for the insight

Peter

Performance all season tires like the DWS will get you there with white knuckles. Snow tires like the 240 will get you there laughing.

The DWS is an OK tire for very light snow and freezing or higher temps. Any worse than that and they really are not much better than parking the car.

Please call me if I can help.
