EVO Wastegate Rod Broken - HELP
EVO Wastegate Rod Broken - HELP
I noticed my car wasnt boosting properly the other day. I hadnt driven it in sometime so I wasnt sure if it was my head. I get under it today and I found that I have broken the passenger side rod that connects to the acuator on the turbo (as opposed to the one that connects to the evo supplied diaphram)
Does anyone know where I can find a bent rod like that. I have emailed mike at evo but if you are on please help!!!! Also, it says he is not allowing PM's, are they still a sponsor??
Anyone else ever had this problem? Any ideas on causes?

Onetime - thanks man. it looks like such a simple part, but everyone looked at it like it was the acutal turbo itself. "you going to have to go to the dealer for dat one" - well sir its not a porsche part so I dont think thats going to help.
Chris, if you broke the rod that is connected to the wastegate housing, I think you're going to need a new wastegate. If it is the rod that is screwed into the other part of the extension of the rod, you might be able to use your old rod from your stock waste gate. Did that make sense?
I bet you have the all-thread rods. All thread is not intended to be bent. If it is, the strength is compromised. Do a search, someone else had one break recently. Maybe EVO or Tial is replacing them since it was a design/manufacturing flaw that has since been corrected.
Alright, to help out a picture is worth a thousand words...Mario I checked out the stockers and I dont think the rod will come out of them. Do you think it unscrews?
Here is the part.. its just the connecting one:

That's what I thought. Can't you unscrew the part to the left off of your old waste gate? So yes, that part on the left should unscrew from your old waste gate then you have a fully intact rod as a replacement. Or am I missing something?
