NR Auto GT2 bumper fitment?

My brother just picked up a NR auto GT2 Uerothane front bumper. Fitment is not very good as it buldges on one side or another. Just curious to see if anyone else here has this issue?

I hope your brother's bumper is an abberation and they swap it out for a better fitting bumper.

I'm waiting on one myself that I picked up from Bob (Speedwerks) where he said the fit is "very good" - I should see shortly: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-04-996-a.html

I have considered these myself as GT2 bumpers have gotten much cheaper but if it does not fit right, and buulges on either side or lines don't match up then it is not worth it.

Hey I just did my Gt2 front bumper in fiberglass, from NR. IT's more solid, does not flex, better downforce!! easy to paint... only negative is low speed impact NO FLEX ! stevo p.s. only prob was sidemarker fender mounts

It is not a perfect fit, but with some minor adjustments - it fits just fine. I do not see anything that would lend you to believe it is not OEM, but I have not compared the two side-by-side.

I am happy with mine - and prefer bumper skins to be flexible material.

I heard your better off going with fiberglass material front bumper for that reason.

For what reason? Wind or speed does not distort the skins.

If fiberglass was better, why wouldn't Porsche use it on their OEM skins.

I'm happy with Polyurethane.

polyurethane is a much better material to use than fiberglass for this application (external bodywork/non structural). The original fabrication/copy process that most of these companies use require (is easier with) fiberglass.

yup, I did not know that NR even made the GT2 bumper in two different materials, fiberglass and polyeu. Poly is way better, but cannot be easily sanded down to fit like fiberglass can. So it has to be made near perfect. it appears that it is not.

The exterior of the NR poly bumper did not need alteration - the fittment issues were all handled with some material removal on the inside of the bumper (all minimal work - e.g. 5 min with a dremel tool).

A few people have seen the bumper on my car and there isn't anything lacking in appearance. I'm more than happy with the bumper skin.

YMMV

Any more feedback on the GT2 NR install ?

Are the following changes needed:
1) GT2 Brackets for an angled radiator
2) Modify the hoses to the radiator
3) Install the air ducts

Thank you in advance
