K24/18G w/ or wo/injectors?

Hey Guys,

I am suppose to pick up my K24's tomorrow, and wanted to get some feedback about doing injectors with the install or stick with just a 5FPR. Any thoughts on which way to go?

Also will I need to do boost hoses?

Thanks,

Depends on what you plan to do with the car? Do you plan to mod it further? It's a lot more money up front, but will pay dividends later if you decide to upgrade further. In reality, injectors are necessary almost immediately, as all but the lamest tunes will leave you pretty tight on fuel.

Find out what injectors will cost and what they feel it will support. Personally I'm not a fan of higher than stock pressures and am happy my car has injectors!

I haven't even thought about going any further than this. I would say probably not, but you never know with this group what might happen. I just wanted to be reliable and very streetable, so this is why I am choosing this route.

How much do injectors run anyways? $400-$600? What about install time?

Probably in that range and probably a day for a shop to do it, if you're not doing it yourself. K24's with a 5bar I think will put you in the 450-475whp range for not a lot of loot. 18G's and injectors will get you to 500-525whp. Depending what injectors you use you may need a 5bar also. Any more power than that and you will need injectors for safety. $500 bucks is cheap insurance for these engines as you will soon learn hanging out here...

As others have said it really depends if you intend on modding any further. My route was K24/18g and I used my stock injectors with a 5 bar and was fine. I actually loved it and had no problems at all with my setup. I almost......almost stopped there with the mods.

Who else builds the 18G stuff besides Blauch and UMW? I.e what parts did you go with and/or upgrades?

Currently this is what my car is doing, how much more duty does the injectors need over stock?

82% duty cycle

11.6 AFR fueling

.741 boost at peak load in high gear..

Get them done by Blauch and save some money. Talk to both EPL and Protomotive and have one of do the tune. The tune is WAY more important than who does the turbos.

I did the injectors on my car, but it depends on how far you plan to modify it. If you are going to keep modifying it and looking for more power, injectors are a foregone conclusion

I am putting in my k24/18g kit in later this week and went with injectors. For $500 cheap insurance, especially if you plan to do several DEs.
