Does anyone know the total number of 996tt that were produced.
I was wondering just how common they are and how rare the might be in the future.

Good question. If I had to guess, I would put my $ on the most common turbo ever produced, except for the 997 which has not passed it yet, but will. Again, this is just a guess, lets see how close I am.

I have never seen a 2003 cab TT advertised or one on any of the forums? they must all be over seas??

Compared to your average car they are very low numbers. I wonder if the 996tt will make it to be a sought after classic like the 993tt has. I can't believe the prices of a good 12 year old nearly as much as the original new price.

 

Anyone have an argument AGAINST a 996 turbo s cab appreciating over time? 963 is a very low build number.

 

All 2003 996 TT production of cabs were sold as 2004 model years. The numbers in the post appear (and I'm pretty sure are correct) are based on date of production not the model year.

My 996 TT Cab was produced in last week of June, 2003 and is a 2004 model. This information comes from the Certificate of Authenticiy for my car.

Interestingly the 996 TT Cab wasn't even announced going into production by Porsche until mid July 2003 and as a 2004 model according to the press release I found on Porsche's press release history a couple of years ago.
