Be ware if you are looking at a 1999 Cab.
My car has been in the shop for 3 weeks and still not able to get the top and clam shell to work.
If you are looking to buy this 1st year 996 be sure the top has been fitted with the new kit for the top system.

 

Sorry to hear this, hopefully they get it figured out soon. Have you been having problems before or is this a recent purchase and you bought it this way ?

 

I have a 99 cab and it's fine. Sorry to hear you're having problems with yours. Remember that the car is almost 15 years old,it's going to have some issue's here and there.

 

Never had an issue with mine either.
maybe you shouldn't make blanket statements dissing all '99 cabs?

I've never heard of a problem like you describe. Your problem is certainly not indicative of all, or most, 1999 911 Cabs. Maybe you should try a different shop. It's always interesting to me that someone would use their first post in a forum vent their frustrations rather than try to learn. Oh, and it's "beware".

 

what new kit are you speaking of?

 

15 year old car breaks, thats not shocking. It helps when you have better mechanics. You never know what's going on behind closed doors..
