I believe that the mkI (like the pic you're showing) all came with the yellow turn signal. Along with the different headlight shape, the mkII headlights have clear turn signals.

You *can* change the mkI headlights to a clear version - but be prepared for sticker shock as each light is almost $700 from Pelican Parts (for a grand total of $1,400 pus shipping and applicable taxes).

There is also a mod to remove the yellow from the mkI headlight - which is free, but does require performing a degree of surgery on your lights.

You can get the headlight assembly corner trim in clear, or get some Lamin-X to mask it a bit. For more information Click Here.

Looks like a 99. You've got the permanent yellow's.
You can 1. tint the amber portion 2. Buy new clear halogen headlights 3. Buy new litronics 4. Buy aftermarket.

Another alternative is to get some clear Boxster non-hid headlights which can often be had for under $300 for the pair that have burnt, yellow inner lense. You can then take them apart and retrofit true Bixenon projectors with aftermarket HID assemblies. I'm in the process of doing this myself even though I currently have the clear Litronic headlights.

I went aftermarket with the LED lights. Got them online for $850-900. I think they update the car a lot.

What OEM headlights are these? Since I'm taking my 996 off the market, this is the headlight I've been looking for but unable to find. Will these plug and play in my '99?

I got them off ebay. The fit is pretty good, just like the LED tail lights. They did not come with Xenon lights, but i added them to the headlight and foglights. I'm very happy with them.

you should do an 'amberectomy' also (search will get you the instructions), removing all the amber plastic inside the light really cleans it up, i've done it on a couple of cars now, its not hard, just takes a little time, an hour or so, basically you use a soldering iron to melt the plastic into small pieces that you can remove with pliers

Thanks! If you don't mind, are you keeping your halogen high-bulb? Fog-lights?

What kit did you get for the retrofit, I can't send PM's yet, so asking here instead!

Is there a special harness to buy to do this?

Thanks,
JP
