Cobb AP troubles - E85 Alpha ROM
Hey everyone. I did open a case with Cobb support and I'm waiting to hear back, but I want to see if anyone else has ran into this issue.
I previously had the stage 2 tune on my 997.1 with just straight pipes.
I got a good deal on the AMS intercoolers and went ahead and bought the Cobb injectors. After having them installed, draining the fuel and filling her up with E85, I went to the shop to flash the car with the Stage 3 E85 map.
For some reason I could not find a map on Cobbs website that matched my ROM ID - B730-5843. I checked on the Alpha stage 3 E85 tune and saw he had a matching map for B730-5843.
Downloaded the map, flashed the ECU. Everything seemed to go smoothly. I turned the ignition off, waited 15 seconds or so, turned the car back on.
The car starts and runs fine, so it seems to have accepted the map. When I plug the AP in it says "Unable to connect to ECU" and if I press the OK button, it starts freaking out and the screen rapidly flashes the cannot connect error until I unplug it.
Anyone who has advice on how to get the AP to reconnect would really be helpful. I want to log the car since its breaking up in boost after 4k.
thanks in advance.

Not sure if this will help at all but I had trouble finding the e85 file as well. Cobb tech support told me to do a firmware update and it would be included. After the update I could see the e85 file in there. I haven't flashed it in yet to try it, running the 93oct version of the stage 3 at the moment. Might be worth a try.

Plus one on the firmware update. I'm here for you if I can help as well just shoot me an email!
If that doesn't work it's possible something affected the access port or maybe your cable. Will get you sorted I'm sure!

Had the exact issue 5 month ago. Flashing screen and unable to communicate with ecu.
Take all maps off accessport (save on your PC.)
Update firmware. I trouble shot this for a month until a new firmware was available. Cobb even replaced my accessport and wire.

Unfortunately I have the most recent firmware. I updated it before I downloaded the Alpha E85 Map.
AP3-POR-001 v1.7.3.0-12696 (INSTALLED)
Is what I have on the AP right now.
Is it worth checking for Beta firmware?

Just keep trying. I had that weird bug happen to me as well. Just kept pulling the OBD plug and cycling the key. Took literally 10-15 tries before it connected back. Every now and then it'll do it 2-3 times before it connects. I think it's a bug in the new software. Never had this issue until the past 5 months or so.

Thanks everyone. For some reason the OTS Stage 3 map does not show up on my computer, but when I plugged the car into the AP it shows up on the AP itself.
I was able to flash the Cobb OTS Stage 3 E85 Map and it seems to be running pretty well.
It pulls hard, but breaks up a little up top. Looking at the logs, I think the tune is a little on the lean side.
I attached a short pull if anyone wants to take a look. AFRs are 13-14 as it builds boost.

E85 can tolerate quite a bit of leaning out, and it's also relative to how much timing you are running but that does look a bit lean. Post your logs to www.datazap.me and then post the link up here for us to look at your logs.

Logs aren't super awesome Do a long pull in 3rd gear where safe, 2k to at least 6500 rpm. Need two or there of those to rule out variance.
Your AFRs weren't as lean as what you posted up earlier. Your cylinder 6 is a bit noisy. Have you done plugs and coils?

Awesome, thank you for checking them out. I live close to DC, so its hard to find a decent place to do a long pull.
I have not done plugs and coils yet. I was going to have my plugs done in the next few weeks. Any recommendations?
