Ride Along As This 997 GT3 Cup Gets Thrashed Around Mugello

By -

Nothing humbles your driving skill like watching a flat-out lap around a legendary track.

If you are the kind of person who loves a good dose of speed and skill to get your through your day, allow us to provide you with a healthy dose of “hell yeah.” We found this video of someone beating the life out of a 997-generation GT3 Cup around Mugello circuit. The video is a straight in-car piece with no overdubbing or talking. Nothing to get in the way of you and that flat-six wail.

And oh what a wail it is. The GoPro this guy is using is obviously mounted without a case, because you can hear every decibel of this 911. All 440-horsepower galloping out the exhaust as he approaches red line without that awful muffle that usually comes with these videos.

And we don’t know who this guy is, but he obviously has some talent. He has to work the wheel and throttle a fair bit around some of the more technical turns, but he never loses his composure and manages to keep his laps nice and tight. While that means there is no sideways shenanigans, you can giggle as you watch him pass other 911s on track like they are parked.

But seriously with that noise. The raw mechanical snap, pop and crunch of Porsche’s race-prepped machines fill us with the most improper of thoughts. Of course those sinful thoughts did nothing to prevent us from cranking the speakers up to 11 and basking in the glory of internal combustion.

We suggest that you do the same. If any of your co-workers complain, stare them down with the intent gaze of a LeMans driver on night laps as you slowly turn the speakers up a little louder. Let them know they can’t ruin your racecar vibes, even if you’re stuck at work.
