Another McLaren Senna Is Going up for Auction this Fall
This McLaren Senna is fitted with some attractive options, has just 95 miles on the clock, and it won’t be cheap.
The McLaren Senna is the latest and greatest Ultimate Series offering from the British automaker. Essentially a race car that also happens to be street legal, the Senna is perhaps the ultimate tribute to the late Ayrton Senna, one of the greatest Formula One drivers in history. It’s also quite rare, with just 500 produced in total. And now, those that missed the opportunity to purchase a McLaren Senna when it was originally available have another shot to bring one home.
That’s because this shining example is set to cross the block at Barrett-Jackson’s Dallas auction, which takes place October 15-17. With just 95 miles on the odometer, it’s essentially brand new, too. But don’t expect it to sell for a discount. Previously, these cars have nabbed around $1.5 million at auction, which is a cool 50% increase over its original MSRP.
Regardless, opportunities to purchase a Senna don’t exactly come along every day. And this one packs everything that makes the car so special, of course. That includes McLaren’s 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 that produces 789 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. The dry sump lubricated mill is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch SSG gearbox, which helps it do 0-60 in 2.7-seconds, with a top speed of 211 mph.
With just 2,641 pounds to move around, the Senna is also undeniably fast around the track. That can be attributed to stellar features including electrohydraulic rack-and-pinion steering and carbon ceramic disc brakes with forged Monobloc 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers, the latter of which are presented in Azure Blue on this example.
Finished in Pure White with a Carbon Black Alcantara interior, this McLaren Senna is also fitted with a few optional goodies. That includes McLaren’s Bespoke Interior with a carbon fiber sill panel, which was a $13,903 option. The car’s Bower and Wilkins seven-speaker audio system, which cost an extra $5,680, is also a nice upgrade for those that get tired of listening to that screaming V8. Though we have to say, we don’t know if such a person exists.
The McLaren Senna is a gorgeous machine with serious performance chops, and that makes it one of the great modern performance automobiles. Couple that with an iconic name and limited production, and you’ve got a recipe for a car that’s bound to attract serious attention when it crosses the block next month.
