Jake Stumph is a lifelong car enthusiast and racer, and former content editor for Internet Brands Automotive which he joined in 2015. His work has been featured by several other prominent automotive outlets, including Jalopnik and Autobytel.
He obtained a bachelor's degree in Political Science at the Ohio State University in 2013, then pivoted from covering politics and policy to writing about his automotive adventures, something that, he says, is a lot more fun. Since that time, he has established connections with most of the world's major automakers, as well as other key brands in the automotive industry.
He enjoys track days, drifting, and autocross, at least, when his cars are running right, which is uncommon.
Do you remember when Porsche 911’s were considered driver’s cars? Truly, they represented one of the purist driving experiences, with whimsically talkative steering and split personality handling that went from demure to razor sharp really rather quickly all while being generally heralded for their reliability and robust powertrains (other than the odd, ropy gearbox here […] More »

Let’s be brief and get right to it: the Ferrari 488 is one goddamned fast automobile. Why, with it’s twin-turbocharged 3.9L flat-plane crank V8 screaming to 8000RPM, it’s basically the modern day reincarnation of the F40, which some herald as one of the greatest cars of all time. It should come as no surprise then, […] More »
The Ferrari F40: you know about it, I know about it, we all know about the F40, one of the rawest and most hard-edged road cars to ever come from the Italian brand. It looks unlike any other car, with an incredibly small frontal area, and massively wide bodywork. It goes unlike just about any […] More »
The Porsche 911 Turbo is a de-facto super sports car; massively fast, massively capable and massively ubiquitous? That’s the angle being covered by Matt Bird over at PistonHeads, the United Kingdom’s biggest motoring forum. Of course, ubiquitous is a bit of a misnomer when the category at hand is $200,000+ automobiles; that’s akin to ubiquitous […] More »
