Building a Twin-Turbo Lamborghini in Your Garage

By -

One man was not happy with the power of his twin-turbo Lamborghini Gallardo. Now he is building up the motor for big boost in his garage.

The Lamborghini Gallardo was the first V10 mid-engine supercar for the Italian manufacturer. It was, and still is, a very fast car. It also was a very expensive car when new. However, after the car had been on the market a few years, shops had requests from customers for more power. Companies like Underground Racing went on to develop twin turbo kits. These boosted bulls make serious horsepower using just the V10 stock motor, 700-900 wheel horsepower to be exact.

Of course, for some owners this is just not enough power. If you are going to have a twin-turbo V10 supercar you might as well make it the fastest. Once the power levels reach north of 900 horsepower the internals of the factory engine are not up to the task. This is where hearts and wallets are broken as you pop a very expensive motor adding more power. So, the solution is to build up the internals of the motor to handle the additional boost. Underground Racing has been able to achieve 1750 horsepower on a built motor with supporting modifications. But what if you want to go big, but you don’t want a shop to handle the build?

In this video, we meet a man named PeterBjorck who is building his dream car in his garage by himself. His Lamborghini Gallardo has been an ongoing project for him. It already had a twin-turbo setup running on the stock V10 engine. Now the motor is out of the car so he can build up the engine. Most Lamborghini owners would be intimidated to work on their car, but Peter has jumped into the deep end. We here at 6SpeedOnline can not wait to see the end results.
