Chris Harris Pilots a Ferrari 250 LM in Incredible New Video

Chris Harris admits to living out his far-fetched fantasy of competing in a field vintage exotics at the Goodwood Revival.

What is your wildest automotive fantasy? For your humble writer, it’d be to drive a Ferrari F-430 Scuderia around the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City. Or perhaps drive the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy. No, I’m not holding my breath.

This latest video by Top Gear features fan-favorite auto journalist Chris Harris, having the chance to live out his lifelong dream of seeing a Ferrari 250 LM at Goodwood. Much to his shock, he’s not only seeing the action from up-close, but he’s actually part of the action. Thanks to the generous offer of a very, very brave (and wealthy) man, Harris gets to pilot a nearly-original Ferrari Le Mans racer at the one and only Goodwood Revival.

The Revival is something which has to be experienced to be believed. Some of the world’s most beautiful vintage race cars are present all in one place, and driven by some of the most famous and eccentric personalities in existence. If you’re anything like me, you find it hard to watch a nine-minute-long YouTube video, but I have to admit that the ending of this one came almost too soon.

After Harris’ co-pilot kicked-off the race and did a stellar job under tricky track conditions, it was up to Harris to focus and do the most with what he’d been given. Believe it or not, the iconic Ferrari’s V12 wasn’t necessarily a “top performer.” It was like middle-of-the-pack-ish, and a “code brown” didn’t help.
Get comfy, turn up the volume, and get yourself a snack. Enjoy!
