A Forum Member Made A Build Log For His Dream Garage

Enjoy some downtime over the weekend by watching a dream garage come together step by step.

If you want something done right, you just need to do it yourself. 6Speed Online member Porsche6016 took that to heart a few years ago when he started working on his new garage. While searching for a new home, this enterprising gentleman didn’t bother with finding a nice house that featured a space he liked. Instead he just found the perfect house and drafted plans to build the perfect car cave.

It’s been two years in the making, but the project is now finished, and Porsche6016 documented and shared the entire process. From marking out the building plot, to leveling, to construction and final customization, we get to see everything. The best part is, with the exception of certain building code-dependent parts like the electrical and main structure, Porsceh6016 did everything himself.

So, we ask you to sit back and enjoy this wonderful tale of a man fulfilling his dreams, getting his hands dirty, and crafting the ultimate space that is his idea of perfection. The final product is awesome. He ended with a 24’x40’ space with room for four cars. He has a two-post lift, full set of new cabinets, tire mount and balance machines, and tons of bright lighting. On the visual side of things, he left the roof trusses exposed and hit them with a dark wood stain, the floor is fully epoxied in a nice bright gray, and he even added a nice three-tone paint job to the walls.

Like all dream garage spaces, there is plenty of personal decoration as well. Racing flags, posters, framed track photos and more adorn the walls. The last step of the process is parking the cars, and nothing finishes the look of a dream garage quite like a 911 Turbo parked in the back. There are a few BMWs in the garage too, but like we said earlier, it’s Porsche6016’s dream garage and not ours.

Still, if you want that extra bit of motivation you need to get up and start your next big project, let this build log be your muse. Finish that slice of pie, and then get to work on those plans. The only stopping you from meeting your next goal is you.

Good luck.
