Giant Hunter: Switzer’s P800 GT-R vs Koenigsegg CCR EVO

The only cars that could be considered natural competition for Koenigsegg are Bugatti and the Pagani. These three brands pose similarly imposing barrier to ownership by being immensely expensive. But they’re not your only option if you just want to be fast; that’s what tuners are for. How’d the old saying go? Built over bought? Well, why not buy built? Hardcore gear heads might scoff at that, but I’d argue that the results are worth it.

Just look to Switzers p800 GT-R. Obviously the GT-R isn’t going to one up the Koenigsegg in terms of refinement or cool points, but it can handle with the best of them. Even in stock form. Stock, however, is boring. So Switzer livened it up to the tune of 800 hp. Conversely, the Koenigsegg CCR EVO makes about 806 horsepower. Suddenly, the god-tier Koenigsegg is no longer unassailable.

This video just goes to show there are still options for those without the several hundred thousand dollars to buy a Koenigsegg. You’ll be missing out on some things (like the fact they you’re driving a freaking Koenigsegg), but raw performance doesn’t have to be one of them.
