Honda CBR1000RR and Ferrari F40 In The Canyons

Real or AI, this footage of a Ferrari F40 and Honda CBR1000R taking a scenic, spirited drive is quite satisfying to watch.

These days, it’s getting a bit tougher to spot videos and images made by artificial intelligence – which is, well, both a good thing and a bad thing. Some AI-generated content can actually fool or even harm certain folks by portraying things in a certain way, but other times, it’s pretty entertaining and visually interesting. We say all of that because this video from the YouTube channel ThatBoiLeon showing a Honda CBR1000RR chasing a Ferrari F40 in the canyons claims to be AI-generated, but that may not necessarily be the case.

These days, it’s pretty easy to just slap an AI label on footage of things that aren’t, well, necessarily legal, and here, that’s certainly what could be happening, given the high rate of speeds both the CBR and Ferrari F40 are traveling at.. Regardless of whether it’s fake or real – there’s a little bit of winking and nodding in the comments – the video is a truly satisfying watch, however, with the classic Deftones tune Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) softly playing in the background, along with a stunning backdrop.

We don’t know where this all went down, but it’s a gorgeous piece of land with winding roads, lush greenery, and mountains, all coupled with the screaming 1000cc liquid-cooled inline-four cylinder powerplant in the Honda super bike. It’s an amazing ride in its own right, chock full of goodies like a bespoke suspension and specially-designed and rather aerodynamic bodywork.

In front of it, we have the Ferrari F40, which requires no introduction amongst enthusiasts. The last Ferrari model ever personally signed-off on by Enzo Ferrari himself, the F40 is a living legend among supercars, as well as the very first road-going production car to crest the 200 mph mark. It does that with a twin-turbo V8 making 471 horsepower, and a svelte 2,400 pound curb weight, made possible by the extensive use of lightweight materials including carbon fiber and Kevlar.

Given how rare and valuable it is, it’s certainly not a common scene to see a Ferrari F40 out in the wild, especially being driven in a spirited manner. Whether or not that’s actually happening here remains unclear, but it’s nice to dream, no?
