Watch London Police Tow This Custom Lamborghini Aventador
When you can’t provide license and insurance, bad things happen.
Note to supercar owners: Don’t mess with London police. You just might end up watching your highly customized supercar leave you on a flatbed. That was the case with this custom, Tron-like Lamborghini Aventador near Harrod’s department store.
London police pulled over Nasser al-Thani, a member of Qatar’s ruling family, in his glow-in-the-dark Aventador for lack of front license plate. Unfortunately for al-Thani, he failed to produce both a valid driver’s license and insurance paperwork. The English police don’t screw around with lost documents, apparently, and they impounded the unique Lambo.
The London bobbies who were putting Tron-borghini on the flatbed must have been having one of their better days at work. Police don’t get to impound cars worth a half-million bucks often. To their credit, they manage to load it up without ripping off the front valence or nicking the carbon-fiber splitter.
You’d think that anybody driving a flashy car like this would manage to carry documentation for it. Big-city police departments tend not to have time for niceties like “My dog ate that thing that you need to see” or “The front license plate makes it look less-dope.”
In any event, the owner managed to get the Lambo out of hock at some point, since it was spotted again. You might notice it sports a front license plate, as well. You might also guess that the driver has a license and registration for the car around, as well. You’d probably be right.
A number of sources credit Japanese supercar customizer Liberty Walk with this Aventador build. Given its eye-and-ear-catching nature, we find that very likely. The spiderweb-style trim on the paint looks pretty great and, naturally, it features a monster rear wing. “Auspicious” is what Liberty Walk does best.
