Watch a Professional Race Driver Snow-Drift a Lamborghini Miura in ‘A Winter’s Tale’

The Lamborghini Miura is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. We’ll just get that out of the way from the outset. Don’t argue, don’t fight it. It’s just automotive truth. That makes “A Winter’s Tale,” the short vignette that features some snow driving in the Miura, a fine work of video art. The story tells the tale of the Shah of Persia and how he loved to drive his priceless Lamborghini in the snow, going so far as to have snow tires specially ordered on his car. That may not sound super exciting, but it all comes together nicely.

The video tells the story through the lense of Lamborghini factory employee Enzo Moruzzi, who explains to his grandson about the Shah’s Miura through pictures of Enzo delivering the car. Stick with the storytelling because the video then cuts to the orange Miura beautifully contrasted with snow-covered alpine forests and towns. After some idyllic scenes, the driver then spurs on the bull, letting the V12 sing and the rear end hang out. When combined with a selection of picturesque shots, views of the sexy gated shifter, and some period-correct funk music, you have the elements of real and true automotive pornography.

The video wraps up with the suggestion that Moruzzi doesn’t know where the car has gone, but his grandson Gianluca gets one last glimpse and one final ear-tickle of the 4.0-liter V12’s resounding exhaust note as it flies past. Throw on a pair of headphones and just listen to that last bit a few times to get the right kind of chills.

It’s worth noting that the driver who plays the Shah of Persia is credited as Mirko Venturi, a 2016 Italian GT Champion and a man who has driven along with factory Ferrari drivers at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Basically, he’s no slouch when driving high-end machinery and he sure knows how to put on a good show.
