Joined the Air-Cooled Family! 1987 Carrera 3.2
I have been driving a 2005 997S for the last 4 years, and have done a lot to it, including installing a supercharger to take it up to 530HP. I did that work myself, and have loved that car, it's been a great daily-driver, complete with my 4.5 year old's car seat in the back.
But it was time to add to the collection, and drive something else half the time.
This is my "new to me" 1987 Carrera 3.2. It came with every single service record, stamp, and receipt for anything ever done to the car, including receipts from Pelican for bits and pieces over the years. Absolutely complete history and documentation since it's original bill of sale.
Now it's mine, and it's absolutely concourse ready, and drives like a dream. 7 and 8 inch original Fuchs alloys (the stock 6's came with it), hand painted centers, Blaupunkt stereo, tools/ pouch, compressor, all stickers, etc.
I will post better pics shortly.

Cybergypsy,
The beauty of your car reaffirms my affection for the '87's. The 87 and 88 are relatively rare, too, as fewer of those years were imported than the earlier SC's and the later 964's and then 993's. Keep it pristine and you'll have a collector's dream within a decade!
Your two-tone interior is fantastic, particularly on a white coupe. I've not seen that cobo before, but I really like it. I am thinking of doing grey berber mats over my black interior just to break things up a bit. What do you think?
BTW, I am currently undertaking a complete interior makeover of my car, and have posted it in the 997 forums, since I am more a part of that world, historically, than I am this one. Check out my progress here:

As it is, the pics I have here, in the 911 thread, are a bit outdated, as you'll see when you look at the post above.
If you are open to suggestions, here are mine:
-Upgrade to the 930S steering wheel, as I have, it's very unique, and looks amazing. Not cheap at $430, but transformative.
-Swap out the OEM plastic interior door handles to a new, black, anodized, aluminum set from Pelican ($60)
-Replace your shift **** and shift pattern insert with brand new OEM ones, about $70
-Have your seat pocket lids re-dyed. I had mine done for $50, and it's a world of a difference!
That said, you can skip all my suggestions, as your car is a gem! Those are just some of the things I'd do, but as you (and everyone here knows), I'm nuts.
How many miles are on your air cooled machine? Are you planning to attend the 2011 Porsche Parade in Savannah?

Thanks for the comments about my car; yours is truly fantastic!
The only tasks I have pending on mine, so far, are to replace the mouldings on the rear window (no leaks but it is not looking up to par) and re-dyeing the shift **** since it is covered in leather from the factory; I have special champagne leather interior code PB. I really love my sports seats! I like the 930S steering wheel a lot so I'll look into that. I was also thinking about Porsche Parade next year as it's about 4.5 hours only from home and I used to go to Roebling Road twice a year, so I'm a little familiar with the area.
As soon as I got my car - over 3 years ago and with 68k miles then (now it has 107k) - I installed the full Griffiths Kuehl A/C system and it's the best money I've put into the car, as it's truly a year-round car now with freezing cold A/C. I concentrated on mild mods like adjustable sway bars front/rear, sports shocks, bump steer kit, lowered to Euro ride height, turbo tie rods, stainless steel braided brake lined, Fabspeed dual outlet exhaust with Steve Wong pre-muffler, tow hooks front/rear which I haven't had to use as this car has been as reliable as my 997. I am sure I have forgotten some mods but these are the most important. I wanted to keep the car's stock appearance so I won't do any body modifications and won't put a roll-cage or anything that would detract from its interior condition. I really love this car and, ironically, is more of an occasion than being in the 997 - for sure I can push it and enjoy more of its performance on the street since it won't get me to the same speeds that the 997 can!
One more thing I did: it came with color coded wheels from the factory so I took the rear Fuchs and put them in the front and bought new Fuchs in 930 size rear ones from Wheel Enhancement and had them painted to match the others. I had to roll the front fenders but only people that are enthusiasts woul know how to spot that.
By the way, I am also a car nut! LOL
