So quick question. I've got a problem where when i first start the car (1983 911sc) the idle is really low, ~200rpm and bounces, then dies after a few seconds ~10-30. What should I check to try and fix the issue?

Once I drive the car for 5-10 minutes, or give it a good run, there is no such problem until I turn off the car and start it after it's been sitting for a little while.

Thanks,

Fist try the iac motor.
I've been able in the past to take them off and clean them out.
Make sure the little rotating cylinder inside will move freely, use someting that won't
damage the surface of it. A long wooden "Q" tip works great.
Its usually either the iac valve/motor sticking or it's just worn out.
There could be some other sensor issues but they are not very common.

I would also look at the IAC first and also look for possible vacuum leaks.

Alright, idling problem fixed... It just needed a good tune up and a small valve adjustment.. now she sounds like a porsche should sound. Thanks for the advice guys.

Pics as promised.
