Picked up a Carrera

So after all my searching, I finally picked up a 1986 Carrera. I found the car just outside of San Fransicso on my vacation this week. I've only been able to drive it for a short time since I had to leave it at a freinds house while I continued my family vacation in southern cali. I will be picking it back up next week when we drive back to Seattle. I will be renting a trailer to get it home.

It seemed the market for these cars in Seattle wasn't as good as cali. I found exactly what I wanted. The car is in great shape and really doesn't need anything to continue to drive it. However, I will be slowly fixing the little impefections that it has over time.

Now I may have to get a lift for the garage. I never though I would outgrow a 3 car garage.

And of course, the mandatory picture

-David

Signature fixed.

I'm not sure if the wheels are real Fuch wheels or some knockoffs, but they sure look like them.

Looks like a very clean example. Congratulations and the best of luck with the mods.

Congrats!!! Car looks to be in great condition from the outside. Polished Fuchs look outstanding. My first mods would be dropping the car to euro specs, and some dark tint. Black tint would look great.

If you are with the familly on vacation, why not drive the car back home instead of transporting it? No better way to bond with your new love than to drive her home.

Again...nice looking Carrera. Enjoy!

Tint is on my list of first mods. Lowering is always a must as well.

As for driving it back, we are already driving back the car we drove down. We are just going to rent a trailer and pull it back with us. I would drive it back, but my wife is not up for 800+ miles by herself with the kids in the car while I drive the Porsche back.
