Bought this for my boy and in the engine area their is a long cable that is not connected to nothing and after seeing several pics of other cars I saw that it hooks up to a box next to the battery and a big plug. What is that cable for and the box it hooks to. Mine is missing.

 

When I pull on the wire it accelerates the engine so assuming it some kind of choke or something. I need to know the name of that cable and the box it hooks to so I can order or find one. Just changed the plugs and it runs like a champ now.

 

Sounds like the cruise control unit.

Yes and thank you so much. The unit is missing and just the cable is there so dont need it then as I never use CC.

 

Glad I could help. Just make sure the cable housing is secure and it can't move around the engine bay, so the cable it self doesn't get blocked or doesn't catch on anything. As you've seen, it does affect your throttle position.

 

Yes and that is the first thing I did was tie it down....Now I need to find a sunroof for it and think it blew off when it was being transported to my home.

 

Ok just ordered the repair book so until it arrives what the heck is this.
