Hey Rufhaus,
I feel your pain...not really a lot of activity on the forum lately...
As you can see from the attached photo's, I have had to take the PCAR offline for a bit...
Thrashed a couple of pistons as a result of to much boost...

Hey JD,
Unfortunately, I don't know. I was tampering with the manually adjustable boost ****
just after I had a new turbo installed. Sort of one of those "Oh, what do we have here"
kind of deals. It only took one pass to realize that I had made a booboo...
I knew something was wrong; however, I just didn't know exactly what "wrong" was at that particular moment.
Several weeks later, I noticed that the engine was smoking from the oil filler tube (Blow-by). By now I sort of figured that there was some interal damage. Primarily broken oil ring or something.
Well, once I tore the engine appart, I realized that not only were there several oil rings broken, but most of the compressions rings either decentigrated or broke as well, damaging 2 of the pistons as well as the barrels.
Oh well, just on of those "Damn"...moments.
An expensive lesson nontheless...but a lesson learned.
FYI, talked to the guy who built the car and he stated that I should not run more than .8 bar using regular pump gas...unfortunately, didn't know that. He also told me that I could increase boost only if I run 108 octane fuel..."Now you tell me"...
Ciao,
