Opportunity knocking?? Need advice!!

Hello gang!!!

I recently purchased a 2006 997 C2S Cab. The car is in EXCELLENT condition, had 23k miles when purchased about 2 months ago, and I got a pretty good deal on it. I am very happy with my car, and I have been enjoying it immenseley!
Then, this weekend, I did something I probably should not have done...I went to a local dealership where they have a 1989 930 turbo for sale, and took it for a test drive. The acceleration seemed a bit sluggish compared to my C2S (from about 0-40), but then, WOW!!!! What power, and what a feeling!!!
The car looks, feels and sounds GREAT. According to the salesman, it was completely "re-done" by the previous owner; new interior, new paint job, engine rebuild, etc.... simply because the previous wner wanted a car which would be used with no problems as a daily driver. The car has about 72k miles on it.
The deal being offered is $5000 from my end to get out of my car, (they offered about $5000 less than what I paid for it) and the payments on the 930 would be about $100 less per month than what I am paying now. They want just under $40k for the 930.
I honestly don't know if i should bite. The 930 is and always has been my dream car. I LOVE Porsches, and I purchased the 997 because I thought it would be more "practical" and less maintainance intensive than an older model, but the feeling I had in the 930 is unparallelled.
The dealership seems VERY eager to make the trade, which for some reason, kind of worries me, ie it made me feel that they would be gettting the better end of the deal since my care now is essentially FLAWLESS. I would get a PPI from my mechanic before I did anything. The salesman is very amenable to this, and he encourages it. He also told me that the 930 will only go up in value over time, while my car will only depreciate over time (likely a sales ploy).
Is this a good deal?
Would you do this deal if it were you?
Is the 930 overpriced?
Any advice would be VERY helpful!!!

Thanks!!!!

do it!

The 997 c2s is nice and a special car im sure. But a 930 is simply AWESOME! The c2s will be a daily driver as opposed to the 930....for the most part just for fun. I went from 996 c4 to 78 930 with RUF options and I couldn't be happier.

Well, I own one of each. A 2005 C2S Cab and a 1988 Turbo. Love 'em both, but no way would I treat the turbo as a DD. I'd also be a bit concerned about a car that was 'redone'. Not sure why, but I'd rather purchase something that was unmodified and low miles. Perhaps just personal preferences, but I paid extra for a low miles (12K) turbo and couldn't be happier.
GL whatever you choose.
