Question Who makes 930 turbo motors?

I am pondering buying a 930 in town that has a blown motor. I dont have the skills or the time to rebuild a motor myself. With that said, I am curious if anyone can direct me to some reputable companies that sell an already rebuilt 930 motor 3.3L turbo. I wanna compare the costs to paying someone to rebuild the motor. Any help would be great!! Google is proving to be useless with this search

The reason your Google search is useless is cuz I just don't think you can buy a built 930 3.3L turbo motor like you can a Chevy 350 crate motor. In fact, I think a new 930 case alone will run you $10-15K!

Give us some details about the car; price, year, when it blew, where it sat (garaged or outside). Pics would help...we may be able to help you arrive at a reasonable purchase price...RC

Someone else bought the car. I couldnt find a place to buy a "pre-made" motor to give myself a close price range for a new motor.

I am really surprised that there isnt any companies that have premade motors with various upgrades... I guess a re-build is the only solution.

Right. You could probably go down through Sumas, down I-5 to Arlington to get to him.

His place is like a candy store. I have held in-hand crazy rare bits that he has from 962, 959, 935, etc., etc. He could build two complete 962 engines if needed. I have known Paul for years. He is a good guy. He may be a wee bit slow, but he does know his stuff. Good luck with your build.

Crazydude, I am bit embarrassed. Please check your PM's. Sadly, I am recanting on my referral to Paul Weir.

Paul's health is bad enough so that no other option was made other than to close down all business.

I wish him the best as always. He is a good person.

VAC motorsports. They are a BMW specialty shop but can build a better motor than just about anyone I have come across!
