Current Value of a '86-89 930?

Hi All,

I am considering buying a 964 for my weekend car but as I start to look around at various Porsches, I realize that the Turbo's still have the best body style by far of the 86-94 cars.

Can someone give me their thoughts on what the range of pricing I should expect to pay for a 930 car with say anywhere from 40-60K miles? The 964 Turbos are priced a little too high for me from what I see so that is why I am looking at 930's.

I assume most of these may have some modifications, which will impact the price potentially, but am curious to get a ballpark range.

Thanks!

Really depends on the following factors: year, condition, original vs. restored, coupe vs. cab, modified vs nonmodified.

For nicer cars, discerning buyers will want originality, with no mods, verifiable history. Coupe vs cab is personal preference. '89's will pull a premium because they are the only year with the superior G50 5-speed tranny. In general, buyers will pay no more than 10 cents on the dollar for a car's cost of modifications.

A nice '89 original coupe with low miles and the right color could easily pull $60K. Cab maybe a few $$$ more. And no, they aren't getting any cheaper. Good luck with the search!!

thanks Vascott01... I just read that yesterday and agree that it has some useful info.
I guess the price ranges I am seeing ($27-40K) are typical for 86-89 930's?

Excellence prices are low try to find a good original 89 for less than 45 which is a great price. A really excellent one will cost you in the 50's

My friend paid 52,000.00 for his 89, all black,16k miles, totally stock. probably the best example i've ever seen. 1 owner, pretty much flawless, I think it was a good deal.
