Looking at a 930

Hello,
I'm a regular on the 996 section as I have a 2003 C4S. I was looking this morning at a listing for a 1988 Slant Nose Turbo with 103k on the clock, new turbo, and new top for 25K negotiable. The interior looks to be in good condition but having only looked at pictures who knows.
Does this sound reasonable? And at this point I don't know if the slantnose is after market but I will find out.

Any thoughts or advice would be helpful.

25k for a factory 505 slant is a good deal
Conversion, who knows, depends on the condition. Generally conversions are worth less than a comparable stock non slant.
Pics?

Even if it is a slant conversion, it looks like a good car for the price. Only a PPI will tell for sure.

It looks really nice from the pictures, go check it out and report back I would think you would be doing really good if you could get it for 23K.

Received an e-mail from the owner, it is a conversion, how would this affect the price? I'm going to look at it this weekend.

After talking with a few people the factory 505s had more of a curve from the windshield to the nose. I think the low to mid-20s is reasonable for a conversion in good shape. Let us know what you find out over the weekend.

Not true, the fenders look to be steel factory items, bumper is not stock. It's a decent non factory conversion.
If the leakdown test is good, it's a good deal.
Generally a slant conversion is worth less than a stock fender car. A factory 505/6 car commands a 10-15k premium over a like non slant.

TheDuce is infamous around these parts
Slant nose or not, with prices increasing (almost daily) $25k for a Turbo is a great price. PPI is a must with any of these cars.

No worries I was just wondering, I did see there was a blue one on rennlist if you were still looking. No affiliation, just a quick glance, I just saw it when I was breezing through the classifieds.

For what I am seeing, the price is not bad for a clean car. I just sold my 930 to a gentleman in Norway that was partially restored for around that price. Then again, that car had a multitude of high performance mods to boot, so he def got a great deal.
