930 4 spd to 5 spd conversion details/options?

I know the early 930's came from the factory wioth a 4 spd tranny. I had one.Later Ruf did a 5 speed tranny for the 930. Anybody know details relating to the conversion process? Or where to go?

Thanks,

R

There are not many RUF 5 speeds around and parts are scarce for them. You are better off doing a G50 conversion on the car.

How difficult is it to convert to a G50, do you have to change the gears as well?

I remember looking into this for our 930, but it was going to be a pretty extensive process. Lots of custom work because the trannies were different sizes or something. Just stuck with shorter gear ratio instead.

The custom word scares me! I have plenty of time to think about it before I get a 930.

I don 't know if RUF still offer this service but it's going to be expensive. AFAIK, they use the stock tranny case.

I had a Patrick MS short G50 installed in my car about 8-9 years back. It takes an average shop about 25 hours to install. It was one of the best upgrades to my car I've made...
