Carrera white metallic?

Hi all,

Has anyone seen this color in real life?
It is a new standard option for the cayenne Platinum and it
looks really nice on the 3D configurator. Beautiful
pearl affect. If anyone has a pic of this color please share.
It is called carrera white metallic.

Thanks.

Yes... Been there, done that!

I've seen the color and I've almost ordered it... Untill I heard the pricetag very recently
German price excluding taxes is 7000 euro!! ($9100).

I have to say, I'm not quite sure if that is the same color as they offer on the Cayenne Platinum edition though.
The color on the 991 TTS that I saw at the Frankfurt Auto Show was called Oryx white pearl. (VW uses that color on several cars).

They said to me it was the only available metallic white for the 991 at this moment. (Note that Cayenne is built in Leipzig, instead of Stuttgart, so paint-factory is different and colors are not always available to all models)

Here are some pics of the car at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

I already have my car in order. March production, May delivery. I have ordered the colour in Oryx white metallic. It is a vw color and they use it
on the golf series. You are indeed correct. To my understanding the Carrara white metallic is a different color. I do not think it is the same. Just want to know how it looks. On the configurator it looks insanely good. Much more glitter looking than the oryx white, and it is a free option.
My dealer told me this was also an option for the turbo but was on for only
a couple of days as standard. Now it has been removed. I still have a month to change my options if wanted. Just have to see this Carrara white metallic. Thanks for the reply.

Since you are in Dubai, Porsche Middle East had a limited edition of the Panamera in that same color. It was a 2011 model. With some luck, you will be able see the "Carrara white metallic" on that car.

Here's the brochure in PDF: http://www.porsche.com/microsite/pan...s/brochure.pdf

If you get some info about availabillity of that color on the 991, please let me know. To me they said, there was no other option than Oryx White pearl, but it wouldn't be the first time they gave me wrong information... :-/

I will definitely let you know if something comes up from my side. I am sure Porsche will introduce more metallic white colors in the future. Will be in contact with my dealer. By the way, seeing the oryx white up close. Is it more nice in person? or roughly the same as the pictures? Thanks.

It's the same as in the pictures. I personally would have liked a color like Audi's Gletscherwhite metallic, which is very bright, but the Oryx Ehite looks very good on the car inperson. At least, for my taste

For what it's worth...That was called something like Middle East edition and it had the pearl white with red interior. I'm a fan of the pearl/metallic white on Lexus SUVs, sedans and the likes. For some reason I didn't like it in person on the Panamera. It seemed nice only in the pictures. I've also seen a used 997 turbo metallic/pearl white - perhaps a different color code - didn't like it either.

I suspect the Panamera ME edition was actually created to pump the Panamera sales because both the interior & exterior colors are usually popular in this market (I would say 1/3 of all Porsche sports cars now are being sold with red interior).

Panamera did ok in its introductory model year 2010 but sales never really took off thereafter. Every market is different and folks in the high end sedan segment this market would rather buy a 5-seater luxury sedan like S-class or 7-series. That's good for Panamera lovers I managed to get an unsold 2010 turbo in 2011 for $20k off sticker price. That's huge in a market where Porsche is not used to offering discounts and cars normally sell at sticker prices. I'm going a bit off topic here...

It's not a "no cost option", but it's a standard metallic color, so indeed al lot cheaper than PTS Oryx White Pearl.

Suzy I think it's a no cost option in the Middle East region but may be as a cost option in other markets. I know I didn't pay anything for my rhodium silver

Okay... That is very nice from Porsche Middle East. Over here, metallic paint costs CHF 1640 ($1820) extra!

Yes actually the color is standard on the 991 turbo. Have changed my order to a 2015. 2015 also comes with the black and red interior. With 2014
you had do order each option to get the same as exclusive options. Meaning first pay 5000 to get it to red. Then you pay 2500 i think to make it partially black. Then 1200 for the dashboard stitching in red, another 1200 for the sides, another 1200 to make the carpets in black. What a joke. Interior would cost around 11000 dhs. This does not include the carbon fiber.
