If you are concerned about resale value, neither the TT or the TTS is a good decision, frankly.

When it comes to used vehicles the purchaser is always looking for a deal and the top line product, in your case I believe they will sacrifice some of the "S" goodies and take the bait on your optioned turbo, just don't expect to get top dollar for if. What drives people to the non "S" in the beginning is the thought of saving money. That car is already destined to be a compromise from day one. Sad to say considering the exorbitant cost of owning such a car!

I actually believe that given the price gap the S stands to lose more value than the non S relatively. Although you would still be able to resell it for more, or slightly more, the drop will still be as steep for both cars or perhaps more for the S. Going back to AMGs look at the resale of the 65s vs the 63s. Used 65s go for peanuts.

If you want something that will hold better value go for a Carrera S or GT3.

However, in 2 years when I trade in my turbo, the value will be determined on the $148 base price because options mean nothing (or very little) on trade in. I think the S will hold it's resale value better than a highly optioned base turbo.
Speculation on depreciating automotive assets...? In the future??
There's a mugs game!!

ps; to anyone seeing only $14k difference between equally optioned TTS and TT builds..... I want your Porsche configurater!!

My initial TT build was almost 30k cheaper than the TTS, 162k vs 191k. I've since added the PDCC, LEDs, and Burmester and Im up to 171k, and still 20k less than the TTS. Adding anything more to my build at this point would make the TTS a no brainer.

As far as resale, I agree that trying to estimate that now is fruitless!!!!!

I'm not knocking those who have the money and spend it for the TTS but for those of us with a budget, if you can call 170k a budget, the TT is just swell.
I own a 09 Sl65. It's a different drivetrain than the Sl63. TT and TTS have the same drive train.
